Who it is for

Control owners, SOX / governance analysts, and junior internal auditors in Malaysian financial services and shared service centres. You should already touch monthly evidence requests; this course sharpens how you structure them.

Modules

Each week ends with a critique of a real (redacted) artefact you bring from work.

Week 1 — Evidence inventory without the spreadsheet sprawl

Map controls to artefact types, owners, and systems of record. Build the first slice of your Evidence Ledger.

Week 2 — Requests, due dates, and polite escalation

Design request language that gets attachments on time. Practice escalation paths that stay professional.

Week 3 — Retention tags and legal hold awareness

Apply retention labels suited to Malaysian statutory expectations and know when not to delete.

Week 4 — Exception logs that explain themselves

Write exception narratives reviewers can follow without a meeting. Link samples to compensating evidence.

Week 5 — Packet assembly inside the app pattern

Assemble narrative, sample list, approvals, and exceptions into one packet using the app workflow pattern we teach.

Week 6 — Capstone review simulation

Submit a capstone packet; receive facilitator and peer critique as if you were facing an external follow-up.

Learning outcomes

  • Produce an ownership map covering at least one end-to-end control family.
  • Apply consistent naming and retention tags across a sample evidence set.
  • Assemble a review packet that a stranger can navigate in under ten minutes.
  • Document exceptions with cause, impact, and compensating artefact links.

FAQ

Do you provide the auditing software itself?

No. We teach workflows that map onto common compliance evidence tracking tools. Licence purchase is outside the course.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We cannot certify that your organisation will pass an external audit. We improve how you prepare evidence; outcomes still depend on control design and operating effectiveness outside the classroom.

How much time per week?

Plan for about six facilitated hours plus three to four hours of packet work. Week three (retention) usually runs heavier.

Course reviews

“Week 4’s exception log rewrite was uncomfortable and necessary. My IA partner stopped asking ‘what does this mean?’ on every sample.”

— Hafiz · treasury control owner

Short take: “Capstone simulation felt closer to a real follow-up than any e-learning module I have clicked through.”
